Tommy Thompson is a husband and father of four children. Tommy and his wife Ember have lived in Nuevo and the Nuview School District for several years where they greatly enjoy raising their children in Nuevo's rural atmosphere.
Service to his community has always been a top priority for Tommy. Beginning at age 14 when he was an Eagle Scout award recipient, Tommy has always applied himself to the principles and actions of community service. Tommy is currently a member of several local organizations and always strives to make a helping hand available.
Tommy is well acquainted with education, government, and politics. He assisted in the campaigns for his father, Former Assemblyman Bruce Thompson, for school board and the State Legislature. Working with his father, Tommy learned educational policy at local and state levels.
Tommy is no stranger to quality education. Prior to receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Utah; he served an internship in Washington D.C. with the Hinckley Institute of Politics. He also has an Associate's Degree in Business.
Paramount to all his accomplishments is the establishment of his family. Tommy and his wife Ember are about to celebrate seven years of marriage with son Ethan, daughter Elise and twin baby girls Audrey and Breanne.
"The most important lessons are learned within the walls of a child's own home. Education should support family life and when families reinforce what is learned at school there is no limit to what they can achieve. I will do my best to make sure parents and teachers support each other and work together for the benefit of the children."
